Khormai sorkh shode
- fried dates
20 large, juicy dates
100 walnut kernels
50 g of unsalted butter
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 Remove he seeds from the dates and stuff them with walnut kernels instead.
2 Heat the unsalted butter in a frying pan at a high temperature. Add the dates to the butter and remove the frying pan from the hotplate. The dates should be fried, not scorched!
3 Sprinkle the cinnamon over the dates. Arrange the dates on a plate.
4 Stick a toothpick into each date and serve with tea or coffee. You may serve the dates with or without whipped cream or vanilla-flavoured ice cream.
